June 13 – St. Anthony of Padua: Miracle worker and preacher

June 13th is dedicated worldwide to St. Anthony of Padua , one of the most famous and beloved saints of the Catholic Church. Born around 1195 in Lisbon, he initially joined the Augustinians, later switching to the Franciscans, and became a gifted preacher—famous for his clarity, popular appeal, and miracles. Anthony was a scholar yet deeply humble. Even during his lifetime, he was venerated for his healing powers, his help for the poor, and his capacity for reconciliation. He was canonized just eleven months after his death—one of the fastest processes in church history.

He is considered the patron saint of seekers , the poor, lovers and married couples.
