September 7: Canonization of Carlo Acutis

On September 7, 2025, Pope Leo XIV canonized the young Carlo Acutis in St. Peter's Square, the first saint of the millennial generation and a modern role model for faith and the digital world.

Born in London in 1991 and raised in Milan, Carlo showed a keen interest in computers from an early age. A passionate programmer, he created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world, a testament to his deep spirituality and talent for digital evangelism. His life was characterized by everyday faith, devotion to the sacraments, and loving commitment to his fellow human beings.

In 2010, a first miracle was attributed to him, the healing of a Brazilian boy, which led to his beatification by Pope Francis in 2020. In 2024, the Vatican confirmed a second miracle from Costa Rica, thus paving the way for his canonization.
