Our wood carving online shop: How it all began
Those who visit our woodcarving online shop immerse themselves in the world of Val Gardena woodcarvings.
Here you will find nativity figurines and religious figurines, as well as crosses and crucifixes that are carved with great attention to detail.
However, our story did not begin on the internet, but at a Christmas market in Vienna.
From the Christmas market to the online shop
In 2017, brothers Beniamino and Camillo Grossrubatscher first showcased their Val Gardena woodcarvings at the Spittelberg Christmas market.
Visitors were able to discover traditional Val Gardena nativity figurines and the popular Kostner nativity figurines, designed with classic Alpine detail and full of expression.
The enthusiasm was great, and many people took the hand-carved South Tyrolean nativity figurines home as a souvenir of the Val Gardena valley or as a special Christmas gift.
Then came 2020. During the lockdown and the cancellation of the Christmas markets, the brothers decided to continue their passion online. This is how the Grossrubatscher woodcarving online shop was created, where the woodcarving art of the Val Gardena valley could also be experienced digitally.
Tradition and art from the Val Gardena valley
The Val Gardena in South Tyrol has been considered a center of woodcarving art for centuries.
Artistic Val Gardena woodcarvings, which are valued worldwide, are created here.
In the workshops in South Tyrol, wooden nativity figurines, Kostner nativity figurines, crosses, and crucifixes are created, all carefully finished by hand and crafted with a fine sense of expression and form.
Our nativity figurines from the Val Gardena stone pine crèche are even hand-carved.
These authentic South Tyrolean nativity figurines are produced through intricate manual labor and are available in various sizes. Each figurine is unique and bears the hallmark of genuine Val Gardena woodcarving.
